| While
out running errands one afternoon, I asked people if conversation could
be sculpture. |
1996.
Around Wall St. 28 minutes in the afternoon with 11 people. The transcribed
responses were then printed as an introduction to an exhibition. The exhibition
presented work by artists who have conversed with people in non-art spaces
as part of their work. The works in the exhibition were by Johannes Baader,
Joseph Beuys, Daniel Buren, James Collins, The Rosairo Group, Mierle Laderman
Ukeles, and Larionov and Ilya Zadanevich. Artists' pieces dated from 1913-1980
and occurred in Germany, Switzerland, England, Argentina, the United States,
and Russia. No archive. Exhibition and catalogue printed in an edition of
500 copies; a deluxe version of the exhibition was printed on a few T-shirts.
Project and exhibition can be repeated.
